The Store QML client for Symbian provides some fixes to issues that have been reported by the Nokia Beta Labs community and also prepares for some new features that will be deployed on the Store backend soon.

Nokia launches a new application that will breathe life into clients mobile drilling. Users can choose between different applications, videos, games, productivity tools, web, podcasts, location services and more. The Ovi Store enables developers to list their programs in an online catalog so that users can easily download or buy.

More than 50 Nokia devices compatible with the store Ovi and can be accessed by visiting store.ovi.com on the browser or download the standalone version of the application on your phone. We tried on our E71 and it worked on both the browser and through the application. The first game was successfully installed our phone crash, but we’ll save this as the fault of the application rather than Ovi Store.

Paid applications are also available, but the shop began to slow to a crawl as we wanted to try that. Perhaps a sign of teething problems. Nine selected countries, mainly in Europe but also including Australia and Singapore, also have a store dedicated Ovi which gives residents the opportunity to pay for programs through mobile operators outside of the standard billing credit card.

Google Calendar Client v0.20 S60v3 S60v5 S^3 SymbianOS 9.x Signed

Walking around in town, trying to remember exact address for the next meeting, wondering if you had free time between 4 and 6pm or need to call someone -- where all the data is at your calendar at Google.com but there is no real no-nonsense way of taking a look with your Nokia phone?
This native Symbian application comes to rescue. It runs on newer phones - tested on Nokia N8 N82 and N97 - providing access to Google calendar. It is a online realtime client. For data connection it is agnostic - can do both WiFi, 3G or anything else that you have available on the phone. This application does not work in offline mode, it does not mirror event data to phone, it does not attempt to sync data with nokias own builtin calendar.

Release notes

New: Allows you to change active day when in calendar view
Improved: Displaying variable content in event view
Improved: Handling of all day events, tasks, other "nonstandard" calendar content
Technical: UI code rewritten to support XML based graphical skins
Technical: if app finds e:\g_log.txt (mass media drive) it will log its progress there. If said file is not present - logging is disabled.
Kown Issues:
does not work on 3rd edition phones and is only usable on touchscreen devices - if you dont have 3rd edition or no touchscreen go with the 0.1 (see below) for now
crashes on event view if logging is enabled and event data contains '%'

Install instructions
Connect your phone with computer, enable PCSuite/OviSuite mode
Click on the file in Win Explorer.
Ovi Suite opens, asking if you want to install, answer Yes
On phone you have the same questio, answer Yes
Start the app if successfully installed
Enter valid google uname-pwd combo and you are set to rock and roll
Current thinking for future improvements are:
WRT widget to show upcoming events
Linking to google maps from event details/description addresses and URLs
Better navigation across days incl search, weekly view, etc
